Being a very experienced UNIX admin in other flavors (HPUX) of UNIX, I was hoping to be able to use that knowledge to transfer into how Linux is structured.  I feel this course met that objective very well due to the instructor's willingness to equate things from one OS to the other.

About the Technology

Linux is an open source operating system that is used heavily in industry for web, database, and email servers. Various distributions (distros) of Linux exist which are all based on the same Linux kernel. Some of the more popular distros include Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Debian, Fedora, and Ubuntu. Linux distros are typically free, although there are versions of Linux that you can purchase that also provide support.

This was one of the better courses I have attended. I have been using Linux for 10+ years and I still picked up quite a bit of useful info.
