Batky-Howell's Oracle 11g training curriculum includes five classes that cover introductory topics such as SQL Programming and PL/SQL Programming, as well as more advanced courses in Oracle 11g New Features and Database Administration. - Introduction to Oracle 11g Programming (5 days)

In this class, students will learn how to create, retrieve, and manipulate objects in Oracle 11g Structured Query Language (SQL). Students will also be introduced to Oracle 10g database features and tools. The Oracle 11g release has greatly enhanced the features and functionality of PL/SQL. Students will learn the fundamentals of the PL/SQL programming language. Students will write stored procedures, functions, packages, and triggers, and implement complex business rules in Oracle. Students will learn programming, management, and security issues of working with PL/SQL program units. Programming topics will include the built-in packages that come with Oracle, the creation of triggers, and stored procedure features. This course is a combination of “Introduction to Oracle 11g SQL Programming” and “Introduction to Oracle 11g PL/SQL Programming.”
- Introduction to Oracle 11g SQL Programming (2 days)

- Introduction to Oracle 11g PL/SQL Programming (3 days)

- Oracle 11g Database Administration (5 days)

This class will develop the key fundamental skills necessary to be an Oracle DBA. Students will design and create a server using the Optimal Flexible Architecture (OFA), configure logical and physical structures, set up database and user security, add and administer users, and monitor and tune main server areas. Each student will create a toolkit of administration scripts for database management and tuning by the end of this class.
- Oracle 11g New Features Workshop (4 days)

This four day workshop will get students hands-on with all of the important new features they will need. Students will start with upgrades and downgrades and move on to real application testing, diagnosability and failure repair. DBA features for memory management, flashback, tables and new Enterprise Manager tabs will then be covered. The course covers new performance and security features, backup, recovery and data pump changes. Students will also work with several ASM and data warehousing changes. This course uses a companion text book, “Oracle Database 11g: New Features for DBAs and Developers,” with 21 hands-on lab exercises for lots of hands-on practice.

All five classes can be delivered at your location, or at our Denver, Colorado Training Center. These courses are also available as live online deliveries using our virtual classroom.
For individual students, we regularly schedule our Introduction to Oracle 11g SQL Programming class as well as our Introduction to Oracle 11g PL/SQL Programming on our public calendar.
The instructor walks on water. Great teacher. good knowledge - articulate presentation - and she didn't mind explaining parameters in cursors 4 times for me without making me feel dumb.
About the Technology
Oracle Database 11g provides the power of grid computing, with even greater ease of maintenance. Grid computing gives us higher availability and central administration of a database deployed across multiple hosts. 11g aims to provide easier ways to manage this grid, as well as giving users and administrators other new features that they’ve been asking for.
