The Internet has grown from simple interconnected static documents displayed in Netscape® browsers on CRT monitors to more dynamic content with JavaScript and Flash® video displayed on devices that range from phones to high definition television screens. HTML5 enables the next generation of web development with first class support for multimedia content, more modern user interface components, better integration with JavaScript, and a standard development model that can be applied across multiple platforms.

Batky-Howell's 2-day HTML5 training course was developed to help busy web developers get up to speed quickly on what's new in HTML5. Students will learn to use the new multimedia tags for video and audio content that diminish the need for Flash. They also will learn various new form input types that make for a modern user interface that works across a variety of browsers and devices. In addition, the course teaches students how to use the new canvas tag that provides a standard way to draw 2D graphics and use JavaScript to perform animations.
